Synthetic BrAIn — Refund & Cancellation Policy
Seller: Maibot, a company organized under the laws of the Republic of Paraguay (the "Company", "we", "us"). Applies to: purchases of the Synthetic BrAIn software licence. Version: 1.0 · Draft — pending legal review. Effective date: To be announced.
A Spanish version should be made available for consumers in Paraguay and other Spanish-speaking markets.
1. Try before you buy
Synthetic BrAIn includes a 30-day free trial. We strongly encourage you to use the trial to confirm the app works for you, on your hardware, before purchasing. The trial is the best way to avoid needing a refund at all.
2. Who processes your payment
Software licences are sold and processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record (reseller) for the transaction. Paddle handles payment, taxes, invoicing, and the refund itself. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle's buyer terms, and any refund we approve is issued back through Paddle to your original payment method.
The Mente Híbrida course is sold through Hotmart and is covered by Hotmart's own refund policy and process, not by this policy.
3. Refund window
You may request a refund of a software licence purchase within 14 days of the transaction date. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method.
Because a 30-day free trial is available before purchase, refund requests made after the 14-day window are considered at our discretion and are not guaranteed.
4. What this policy does not take away
Nothing in this policy limits or removes any statutory right you may have as a consumer under applicable Paraguayan consumer-protection law, or under the law of your country of residence where that law applies to you. Where a mandatory legal right gives you a stronger remedy than this policy, that right prevails.
5. How to request a refund
Contact us at support@maibot.io with:
- the email address used at purchase,
- your order or receipt reference (from the Paddle receipt emailed to you), and
- a brief note on what went wrong.
You may also request a refund directly through the link on your Paddle receipt. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
6. What happens when a refund is issued
When a purchase is refunded, charged back, or otherwise reversed:
- the associated software licence is revoked and stops working;
- any complimentary bundle grant tied to that purchase (for example course access granted with a software purchase) is also revoked; and
- data you created stays on your device — the App is local-first, so a refund does not delete your files or memory. You simply lose the licensed functionality.
7. Subscriptions and cancellation
If you purchase on a recurring plan:
- You can cancel at any time from the link on your Paddle receipt, from your Paddle customer portal, or by contacting support@maibot.io.
- Cancelling stops future renewals. Your licence remains valid until the end of the period you already paid for; it is not cut short.
- Renewal charges are generally not refundable after the 14-day window, but contact us if a renewal caught you by surprise — we look at these case by case.
8. Situations we will not normally refund
- Purchases made after the 14-day window, absent a statutory right or a fault on our side.
- Dissatisfaction with output quality of a third-party AI model you connected under your own key (BYOK), or charges billed to you by that provider — those are governed by that provider's terms and are separate from your licence fee.
- Purchases where the licence has been abused, resold, or used to breach our Terms of Service.
9. Chargebacks
If something is wrong, please contact us first — we would much rather fix it or refund you than have you file a chargeback. A chargeback filed without contacting us results in the licence and any bundled grants being revoked, and may prevent future purchases.
